Going Home - Part II

With a cry of “Let’s roll” from the group leader, we rolled and rocked and rioted. In no time things turned ugly and unruly onboard. We smashed the windows, ripped up the seats and razed the toilets, venting many years of anger and injustice on this one nostalgic day-out. We’re about to take over the train when the ETS Chief Operating Officer appeared out of the blue to calm us down. He quickly reasoned out with us, explaining that the five electric coaches had cost the government and the taxpayers about RM 50 million. We agreed to abort our plan to pull off a Pelham 1 2 3 when we realized that we’re retirees and we don’t pay tax.

I think it’s not yet too late for me to wish all friends Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir Batin. As most of us do, some spent their long weekend at home with family members. Others might take the opportunity to go back to their kampongs and celebrated the Eid in the accompaniment of their old folks, relatives and friends. And I believe there were a few who brought their family to somewhere else, locally or abroad, to celebrate the great occasion in their own special and private way.

STAROBA President heads MIA

Bekas CEO PUNB DiLantik Presiden MIA

KUALA LUMPUR: Bekas Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) Datuk Mohd Nasir Ahmad dipilih sebagai Presiden Institut Akauntan Malaysia (MIA).

Dalam satu kenyataan pada Isnin, Majlis MIA berkata Mohd Nasir mengambil alih jawatan daripada Abdul Rahim Abdul Hamid.

Ia berkata Abdul Rahim yang bersara sebagai anggota Majlis MIA pada 15 Julai, baru-baru ini dilantik ke majlis MIA dan dipilih sebagai Naib Presiden institut itu.

"Datuk Mohd Nasir dan Abdul Rahim akan berkhidmat sebagai Presiden dan Naib Presiden selama dua tahun berkuat kuasa 8 Ogos," katanya. – BERNAMA
